I am an Austrian qualified goldsmith, diamond setter and grader. In the early stages of my career I was fortunate enough to work for some of the top high-end jewellery makers (Demner Vienna and New York, Bucherer Vienna) that spared no expense in investing time, money and skill in producing exquisite one of a kind trend setting pieces. My work experience spans Europe (based in Vienna, Austria), Asia (based in Bangkok, Thailand) and the US (based in New York). After my period working for these companies I then decided to launch my own jewellery design business.
This brought about my passion for art, fashion and intuition for new trends that consist of rare ethnic materials shaped by european craftsmanship. My trademark pieces can be said to be my Cochine line made of scarab wings that I discovered while living in Asia. I combine them with semiprecious stones, gold, silver and vintage textiles.
With my jewellery, I aim to underline the female sensuality, the desire to travel to far ethnic places through style and the ability to enrich one’s everyday fashion sense by standing out with elegant pride. It is of great convenience to my endeavours that the surface of the scarab wings in my Cochine line reflects it’s immediate surroundings, as this quality allows the woman wearing them to exercise playful discretion in deciding how and on what occasion to include them in her fashion potion for the moment.
Petra Hauser ist eine in Österreich geborene und ausgebildete Goldschmiedin, Juwelenfasserin und Gutachterin. In den frühen Jahren ihrer Karriere hatte sie das Glück, für Top High-End Juweliere (Demner Wien und New York, Bucherer Wien) zu arbeiten, die nicht an Ausgaben, Zeit und Ausbildung gespart haben, um trendsetzende Einzelstücke zu produzieren. Nach einigen Jahren an Arbeitserfahrung in Wien, New York und Bangkok gründete sie ihr eigenes Schmuckdesignunternehmen.
Inspiriert von ihrer Leidenschaft für Kunst, Mode und Intuition für neue Trends kreiert Petra Schmuck aus raren ethnischen Materialien und kombiniert ihre Accessoires mit Silber, Gold, Halbedelsteinen und vintage Bändern. Ihre `trademark´Kollektion heißt Cochine, bestehend aus Käferpanzern, die sie für sich entdeckte während sie in Asien lebte.
Mit ihrem Schmuck unterstreicht Petra die weibliche Sinnlichkeit und lässt Exotik und den Wunsch, in ferne Länder zu reisen in den modischen Alltag einfließen. Cochine verleiht Frauen auf elegante Weise eine mystische Aura. Es ist von großem Vorteil, dass die Oberfläche der Chitinpanzer die unmittelbare Umgebung reflektiert, weil es der Trägerin ermöglicht, ihre verspielte weibliche Intuition in Bezug zu ihrem Ensemble einzusetzen.
